LPG as alternative source of energy: an opportunity for our planet
The climate related consequences of greenhouse gases are widely known. Hence our task will be to choose those energy sources which contribute the least to global warming - LPG is one of them!
Compared to other sources of energy (heating oil, pellets etc.) LPG emits significantly lower amounts of greenhouse gases. This is true for both the Kyoto gases (CO2, CH4, N2O) and the Non-Kyoto gases (dust particles, NOx, CO).
By choosing LPG you create a win-win situation: an economic benefit for you and an ecological benefit for our planet.
Please find below the most important environmental information in regards to LPG.
Benefits for our environment:
- LPG is clean, eco-friendly and one of the least-polluting energy sources
- No production of soot or other residues
- Very low emissions compared to other fossil fuels
- No suspended solids
- Non-toxic
- LPG does not endanger ground water or soil, hence can be used in water protection areas, where heating oil is forbidden
- LPG is one of the most modern energy sources
The EU Commission declared LPG an alternative source of energy in 2002.
To learn from past mistakes and to conserve a sustainable environment we must act now - LPG helps to reach this goal!
